Also keep this in mind for Diplomacy checks in general:
A rushed Diplomacy check can be made as a full-round action, but you take a -10 penalty on the check.

The man about town

The best of us
Game recap: 06 November 2013

The crew (minus Krylsteln) decide to set an ambush for the would-be ambushers of Raydo in the Grand Bazaar

Maximus and Lareth disguise themselves (or are disguised, in the case of Lareth) as half-orcs to act as Grax's bodyguards

Glaskanon disguises himself as the redoubtable Raydo

Koge remains undisguised

Grax, Maximus, and Lareth head to Grax's booth in the Bazaar. Grax continues to pretend to be selling wares while Lareth casts Aid on Maximus. Grax scolds Lareth for not being surreptitious enough. Lareth and Maximus head a few steps away and pretend to 'take a whizz' against a wall while Lareth also casts Bear's Endurance on Maximus. The casting of Align Weapon unfortunately fails.

Meanwhile Raydo struts through the Bazaar greeting random folk and generally acting as the flamboyant playboy that he is. A slaver beckons him into his tent to inspect his wares and Raydo is taken by one young woman. After much heckling skillfully played (and a secret casting of Charm Person) by the indubitable Raydo they agree on a price and the money is exchanged. Raydo then begins to insult the slaver and curse him for his despicable business to which the slaver replies that by paying him Raydo has only contributed to his business. Outwitted but not to be outdone Raydo then makes a grand show of freeing his newly purchased slave.

Raydo and the ex-slave Jessica then exit the tent and head to another in order to get Jessica some new clothes. Having only just freed her Raydo then shackles the woman once again -- but this time only metaphorically -- with his declaration that she is now 'his woman' and that they will 'get married'. Jessica is understandably beside herself and doesn't know what to make of the sudden life changes she's rapidly going through.

Koge has in the meantime spotted a suspicious looking man whittling a stick near the area where Raydo and Jessica have been shopping. She communicates this telepathically to Glaskanon/Raydo. In order to spring the trap he moves towards the man that Koge told him about.

The trap is sprung: Two crossbow bolts hit our man Raydo in the chest and he takes 9 HP damage plus Constitution damage from a poison on one of the bolts, lowering his ability score by 1 and HP by an additional 13. The snipers reveal their locations to be on nearby rooftops and the man who had been whittling stands up and draws a sword.

Initiative is to be rolled...

Convoluted Intrigues

"It is a machination, entwined in a plot, twisted within a conspiracy. Nefarious villainy to be sure!," Lareth pontificates. Grax continues to massage his temples in frustration. Maximus chuckles. And Glaskonon smirks.

With the addition of much discussion amongst yourselves to your already growing body of intelligence, you are able to provide some order to the convoluted schemes that are afoot.  Here is what you are able to deduce:

The unsuspecting Raydo
Grax, nephew to the Wastelord Stromm, has been sent by his uncle to retrieve information on the plot to assassinate Count Drake. According to the Wastelords the notorious doppelganger assassin Aelfric Dortmund is involved. Fortuitously,  they have discovered that Aelfric has recently tasked his underlings with the tying up of some loose ends. They are led by the female Tiefling Selaki, and are currently somewhere in the Grand Bazaar, waiting to ambush Raydo - a veritable man about town. Raydo it seems knows too much. The Wastelords have come to this conclusion through divination magic - particularly the use of the spell Commune.
Grax as an Eastern Merchant
In response they have sent Grax, in the disguise of a jewelry merchant, to await the attack on this Raydo and intervene so much as to return an assassin for questioning. Grax has further discerned that some or all of the waiting assassins have access to True Seeing magic. Thus he has furnished himself with a purely non-magical disguise to avoid detection, albeit a relatively poor one.
Nonetheless, he intends to return an assassin to the Wastelands where, they will question him or her to reveal the location of Aelfric and subsequently his connection to Guido Oskey.
The Wastelords contend that Oskey is plotting to kill Count Drake. This is grounded in the knowledge that the Count will not support Oskey's scheme to revive the notorious Arch Mage Gracchus Dio.
However the Wastelords will not openly move against Guido Oskey, a highly trusted ally of Count Drake, until they can definitively prove his treachery. They believe that by seizing Aelfric they can at once rid the Wizard's Council of an arch enemy, reveal Oskey's intentions and further establish their authority over the Wastelands (now being challenged by the Red Wyrm Xanthax). Moreover, Stromm, increasing in power, sees an opportunity to rid himself of Oskey, his chief rival within the Sorcerer's Faction of the Wizard's Council.
Previously, the Wastelords offered to reward the heroes with a vast sum of gold to dispose of Guido Oskey. This offer still stands but, they propose the above course of action first so as to reveal Oskey's  treachery to the both the Count and the Wizard's Council that he can never return to their service. Once cast as a traitor he will be hunted throughout the lands no matter his chances of revival.

XP for the Dispatch of the Healers

Sir Belvor meets his maker
Sir Belvor and his healers were slain by the antiheroes Glaskonon, Krylsteln and Maximus. As they were under disguise they did not gain notoriety for this heinous act nonetheless this will serve as a warning for further acts of unwarranted do-goodery in the lands of the nefarious Count Drake.
Further, they gained great experience in the slaying of do-gooders:

Each get 9316.6xp, with another 400xp as story award xp, for a total of 9716.6 xp each
